Assignment Title- Global Talent Management – Staffing Case Study Report

Your task is to write a case study report analysing the 2017 staffing policies and practices of your chosen MNE (headquartered in any country in the world) which has an office in London,UK:

  • Before finalising your choice of MNE, check that sufficient information on the company is available to undertake the required analysis. A 2016/17 annual report together with other recent sources such as websites, newspaper articles should be sufficient.
  • Build on TAG and draft outline in-class formative feedback to improve your introduction, argument and referencing.
  • Use academic theory (models/frameworks) to identify and discuss the staffing challenges the MNE faces.
  • Better assignments will integrate reflections on global talent management.
  • Include a cover sheet, table of contents, executive summary, introduction, conclusion, and a reference list.

    • Analysis
    • Recommendations

 

Introduction (10 Marks)

  • What you are going to tell the reader in this report
  • Not the same as an executive summary

 

Applying appropriate academic theory (models/frameworks), analyse your chosen MNE’s current worldwide staffing model  (25 Marks)

  • What are the determinants of staffing for this MNE?
  • What is the current staffing model for this MNE?
  • Discuss any match/mismatch between determinants and model in use?

 

Applying appropriate academic models/frameworks and following from your initial analysis, evaluate the changes to UK staffing policy and practices management might need to consider going forward into 2018 and beyond (20 Marks)

  • What should UK staffing policy and practices move towards?
  • Will use of international assignments change?
  • How might selection of assignees change?

 

Conclusion (10 Marks)

  • What you told the reader in this report
  • What are two recommendations or the UK office to adopt in 2018?

 

 

References (5 Marks)

  • Appropriate choice of academic references (minimum 5)
  • Appropriate use of academic references (in-text and end-of-assessment list)

Penalty (if any) for exceeding page count

Markers will stop reading at the end of four (4) pages or sooner where students have circumvented formatting guidelines and/or balance of text versus figures/tables/diagrams (including allowable word count in illustrations).

N.B. The cover sheet, table of contents, reference list, TAG and draft report structure ARE NOT included in the total number of pages.
