Ardipithecus ramidus

My favorite hominids is Ardipithecus ramidus which was named in the year 1994 after the fragmentary fossil which was dated at 4.4 million years ago was discovered (Gibbons). However another skull was found in 1994 and that was used to reallocate the species to the genusArdipithecus.  The fossil was very fragile that it took 15 years to complete the whole process of excavating, restoring and analyzing it (Gibbons).
