The National Labor Relation Board is an independent federal agency in the United States that mediates dispute occurring between trade unions and management. The agency ensures the rights of their workers to organize as well as a bargain with these organizations. Various NLRB rulings have had impacts on job security and seniority at workplaces (Liebman, 2007).
