BCBSM’s strategic goals and objectives
The Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan is an independent health insurance provider covering about 4.3 million Michigan residents (BCBSM, 2018). One of the strategic goals of the organization is the leadership strategic goal whose basis is the empowerment of employees. In addition, the organization aims at improving the quality of care through strategic partnerships with local clinics, physicians and authorities. To achieve these goals, the company aims at nurturing an empowered workforce who can own up to the success of the organization as their own. BCBSM takes employee empowerment seriously and this is evident in its top 125er strategy of 2014. The company developed the ‘stimulate worker excellence’ strategy whose main aim was to train workers to be self-driven, knowledgeable and confident in the ever-changing industry.
