The post argues that ethnic identity is the source of state formation. Since the ancient days, important states that were formed such as the Roman Empire was formed based on the ethnic identity of the people and not on other factors. With this in mind, it is in my opinion that states should use ethnic identity for the good instead of for the worse. Ethnic identity also determines the manner in which people within the state interact with each other and thereby should not be shunned at any given moment.
