One of the primary roles of authority in any society is the maintenance of law and order (Cavanagh & Cauffman, 2015). However, the authority cannot exist without the people therein having submitted some of their rights to such an authority, with the hope that the tradeoff will result in better living conditions for the said individuals. Therefore, the authority is an essential part of any community and its existence is paramount for the successful implementation of some of the socially beneficial projects within the various communities. However, questions lie on the appropriate conduct of authority, in which case there have always been cases in which people in authority misuse their power in the name of doing what is best for the community.
