According to Kant in a book “groundwork on the metaphysics of morals” he lays down a summary of his views on morals, he suggests one should act only on those maxims that they are willing to become universal laws this ideology is what is known as the categorical imperative. Kant further defines these terms maxim and universal laws where a maxim is a rule that one person follows while a universal law is a rule that is followed by everyone.
