Labor and Management Relations in Faith-Based Organizations

Involvement of teachers at faith-based schools in Collective Bargaining

Collective bargaining refers to negotiation of wages and other benefits that are accorded to employees in employment contracts (Holley, Wolters, & Ross, 2017). Teachers at faith-based schools and professors need to be engaged in collective bargaining since they are similar to other teachers in other learning institutions. When they are denied the right to participate in collective bargaining, there is a likelihood that these faith-based institutions could exploit and manipulate them by offering lower wages than those offered at other institutions that are not considered to be faith-based.
