What does the world expect of a fifteen-year-old boy with Asperger’s syndrome or autism? Realistically that debate promises to be a heated conundrum in a world where people are certainly obsessed with misconceptions bearing illusions that have been passed down through generations through a trickledown effect. To be brutally honest, No many individuals have opened themselves up to accommodate within themselves a macroscopic point of view that understands and appreciates autism. However, in the fictitious novel “The Curious Case of the Dog in the Night-time” by Mark Haddon uses a unique point of view of a fifteen-year-old autistic child to provide a view of the world itself that is sure to erode many misconceptions on autism. Moreover, the book extensively provides a rational mirror for the world as it uniquely uses the character of Christopher Boone to provide a critic on the absurdity of the world from a logical mind that often uses logic in thinking rather than emotion.  The paper is a critical analysis of the elements of fiction that Mark Haddon creatively employs to achieve the themes of trust, love, logic, and perspective.
