There are several situations where the media may pose to be a challenge to disaster response. One of the major situations is where the media is used to disseminate or spread false information about the disaster. The media may be used to relay information that the disaster is not as bad as had been reported earlier. Such information may make it difficult for people to evacuate the areas that are affected by the disaster (Haddow, Bullock, & Coppola, 2017). On many occasions, people often resist to evacuate or leave their premises unless the information that is relayed asserts that they should do so for their own safety.
