Lost in Translation is a film which was directed by Sofia Coppola in the year 2003, centered on what the director wanted to be as an off conventional romantic film which could meet and exceed the norms of the romantic genre. On the same note, the director wished to have a blend of more than one genre and thus introduced some elements of the Gothic cast as observed by Wendy Haslem in her critique article about the film. Notably, the author of the critique review about the film wishes to let the audience know that everything about the film not only exceeded the expectations set by the director but rather fails to meet the minimal expectations for the movie. Arguably, this is the author’s central idea that they are trying to present in their critique of the movie. While Sofia Coppola might have used an unconventional character development rather, setting and out of norm thematic depictions,
