Which myths and legends are common to many cultures?

The myths which are highly familiar would be the myths involving lost cities. One of the most common myths that can be found would be the Lost City of Atlantis which is said to be buried underneath the water. Other cities which are also reported to be lost included; the lost City of Z, the lost City of Aztlan, the Lost land of Lyonesse and lost the City of Gold.  Other myths which are common to different cultures will be the myths featuring mythical creatures and featuring sacred objects.
