Changes in Staffing Policies to Address Staffing Problems

Staffing remains a significant challenge in healthcare. Burnout among nurse practitioners is still an issue, with some of them having to work longer shifts than recommended to ensure that they provide services to the ever-increasing population of patients. Notably, with a rapidly ageing populations, the need for healthcare services to offer the necessary nursing services to the ageing population is rapidly increasing. Therefore, the demand for nurse practitioners is bound to increase significantly over the next decade, to meet the high requirement for nursing services in management of geriatric health conditions.
