JIT
JIT, also referred to as Just-in-time manufacturing is a production framework that was first developed by Toyota and aims at reducing times within production processes such as response time to customers and suppliers. The framework is a lean system in operations management since it reduces the waste that is associated with overproduction and reduces the time that customers have to wait for goods to be produced (Korgaonker, 2015). As the name suggests, production is only undertaken just before the orders of various products are required to be delivered to the customers. Purchase orders for various raw materials are also made when various production processes are about to begin.
