Introduction

Same-sex marriages, commonly known as gay marriages can be defined as the marriage between people of the same sex. Same-sex marriages have remained to be one of the greatest controversial issues with the debate continuing to heat up between various governmental, non-governmental, professional and religious institutions. More specifically, a whole range of differing opinions exists from person to person. For example, some will argue that homosexuality is a normal, natural sexuality and thus same-sex marriages should be allowed. On the other hand, others will firmly hold that children are better off brought up in opposite-sex marriages and that homosexuality is unnatural and abnormal.
