Introduction
While the medical research community has invested a lot of resources and time to research on certain diseases, like cancer it has completely neglected others despite their adverse effects on global health. The neglected illnesses affect millions of people across the globe, and yet do not have cure or effective management approaches. Accordingly, the persons who contract them are left to their fate, with a few lucky ones surviving. Thus, it is imperative that government agencies through the ministry of health (MoH) across the globe conduct comprehensive scientific studies on the neglected disorders to identify the effective ways of dealing with them.
