Governance
According to Augustine, the government of Rome had been constantly accused of corruption, which made it relatively hard for him to explicitly support the government. Consequently, there are high chances that he would view the government as evil primarily due to the adverse use of people’s resources through the corrupt activities. Similarly, Aquinas was also opposed to governance for, among other reasons, prohibition of activities by the government.
