In the 15th Century, The Roman Catholic Church faced criticism by followers and social activists like Martin Luther King for their flawed ways which led to a reformation. Most church officials and the institution was said to be hypocritical, worldly and oppressive. The church clergy was too involved in political activities with some bishops also representing the secular segment. These actions led to corruption and power-mongering inside the church. The church leaders were not living as the people they served, and that bridge caused more divisions and complaints.
