Bulimia nervosa as an eating disorder can be defined as a condition where a person has periods of binging in other words overeating but later involves themselves in behaviors of compensating such as induced vomiting (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). People who suffer from Bulimia have a common fear of gaining weight. This is the main reason that after eating they consider behaviors of compensation. While it is true that bulimic people are afraid of gaining weight, this doesn’t mean that all bulimic people are underweight. Some bulimic people are obese or overweight. These people mainly consider purging as a way of preventing additional weight and trying to maintain their weight.
