Importance of UNIVAC to History

Much of American and world history in the period following the Second World War has been clouded by the events of the cold war and the civil rights movement. Most of history books have often focused on human history with respect to revolutions such as the hippie movement and its implications on American culture, the Vietnam War, Cuban Missile Crisis, and other events that had some political implications on the United States and the larger society. However, in addition to these changes, the period following the end of World War II included changes in society in which case people grew more innovative and had time to focus on development agendas, among which included an improvement of human welfare.
