Some of the major security concerns that are associated with virtualized networks include managing oversight and responsibility, patching and maintenance, visibility and compliance, and managing virtual appliances. Unlike physical servers, virtualized networks require direct responsibility of the administrator. When such responsibility lacks, the network could easily be hacked or tampered with by outsiders (Duarte & Pujolle, 2013). Such a network also requires frequent patching and this calls for labor-intensive processes that ensure that the network is secure at all times.
