The Prologue of Invisible Man is one that explains the invisibility of the narrator and how difficult he finds it to fit in with other people due to his attribute. His invisibility is not due to any chemical or supernatural cause but is caused by the unwillingness of other individuals to notice or recognize him in their surroundings (Dunn, & Wells, 2010). Character, tone, style, symbol, and motif work together in many ways to develop the theme of identity in the novel. One of the major factors in the character is because he is black.
