Introduction
Health care providers are integrating technology into their operations by moving from the traditional paper records to the electronic health records (EHRs) to improve the quality of their services. The usage of EHR has improved efficiency in healthcare settings effectively as medical professionals can easily access their patients’ data. Additionally, they can share the information with other medical providers quickly. Nonetheless, there are certain privacy and security issues associated with the usage of EHR. Consequently, the hospitals that implement the information systems must develop effective approaches to protect their patients’ data from being accessed illegally.
