Internal migration has contributed to increasing urbanization in latin America. Latin America already has two of the world ‘s largest cities,mexico city and sao paulo. Why are people moving to cities in large numbers ? What effects does this massive movement of people have on a country ? What should the governments of Latin America do about this trend ? Should they develop programs to encourage people to stay in the country? Or should they develop programs to handle the influx of people to the cities ? What wound you do if you were in charge

The links between environment, development and forced migration are openly evident in the Latin America region. In this region, many of the people that move from rural to urban areas are what can be referred to as ‘environmentally displaced people.’ This is because, amongst other factors, environment plays a significant role resulting in their movement. Massive migration to the cities in Latin America occurs due to different reasons (Dufour, D & Piperata, 2004).
