The speaker, Attorney Anthony Miele begins the lecture by informing the audience that he acquired his knowledge about intellectual property rights/patents while working at the U.S. Patent Trademark Office in Washington D.C. When he began his work, everything used to be manual as they were required to search the patents to see if there was something that required to be patented. He says that there were little drawers that contained the documents of the things that needed to be copy righted. He worked at the office for two years and applied for a law course.
