Social Challenges Faced By Vulnerable Populations
Vulnerable groups refer to the populations that have unique features that raise their risks for slipping back into poverty compared to others, residing in regions that are targeted by various projects. Such groups include the physically and mentally disabled, children, the youth, elderly, those infected with HIV/AIDS, refugees, ex-soldiers, ethnic minorities as well as women. Rolnitsky et al. (2019) assert that vulnerable populations may also include the individuals residing in rural areas who lack opportunities or access to necessities.
