The central conflict which can be seen in the graphic novel revolves around Rorschach, who opposes the will of the majority when it comes to the death of one of the members of the Minutemen, Edward Blake. At the beginning of the graphic novel, an investigation is in pursuit regarding the death of Edward Blake who also happened to be a vigilante hero with the name, “The Comedian.” Rorschach is of the belief that the death of Blake was not burglary as the majority of the people in the novel claimed and neither did Blake die in the hands of his enemies. Rorschach is of the belief that someone has been hired or is working alone to eliminate the masked vigilante. Majority of the characters in the graphic novel believe otherwise. In the end, Rorschach’s pursuit for the murderer provides a certain spark to the story presented in the graphic novel (Moore, 1-411).
