I read the book Cross-functional teams by Parker, G.M. (2003) and focused on chapter 1 which describes the world of cross-functional teams. These groups that are also referred to as multi-disciplinary teams are a common trend in organizations today. They are beneficial in that they use the expertise of different people to perform a variety of the operations of an organization. However, some of the cross-functional team members are friends while others are enemies and others are allies. When they are friends, they collaborate to make the operations a success (Parker, 2003).
