Who do you think has been the most influential on Heavy Metal Styles today?
Based on what you have learned about Hard Rock and the roots of Heavy Metal, which of the early groups discussed in this class do you feel has been the most influential on the Heavy Metal styles of today? Do you see any social or cultural changes spearheaded by these bands? Please explain using musical elements as well as personal observations.

Music is about personal preferences and different people have varying tastes which changes the way of classifying them. The question of the most influential in the heavy metal styles might therefore be hard to answer considering that many of these bands had different achievements. Over the course of history, many bands and individuals have shown expertise in the music genre and had their challenges and success. If I had to choose the most influential, I would look at the different categories with Metallica taking the price of the metallic band that has sold the most records over the years. Judas Priest has also done well through the adoption of a unique style compared to other groups and has been able to survive.
