The communicable disease in my community that I identified for this essay is HIV/AIDS. HIV is caused by a virus known as HIV that damages the immune system of the human body. The immune system in human body helps to fight off some of the major diseases and conditions that affect an individual. With limited ability to fight these ailments due to HIV, the human body can become frail and this can often cause death (Ropka, & Williams, 2017). This is mainly because the natural defenses are affected and thereby the health of an individual may deteriorate. HIV is mainly spread through unsafe or unprotected sex, sharing of needles, blood transfusion, and mother to child during breastfeeding or child birth. The virus cannot be spread via air or casual contact that people observe in their normal interactions.
