Through the Act, various institutions, companies, and people in the society have been compelled to make reservations for people who live with disabilities. Employers have also been compelled to ensure that they do not discriminate against such individuals based on their physical challenges. The author describes how the act has enabled her aunt to live a fulfilling life despite being a victim of an accident that almost killed her.
