The goal of this type of composition is to summarize another essay, ascertain the thesis and positions presented in the text, and to present feedback about the efficacy of the text as well as the message it proposes. Your assignment is to pick one of the scholarly articles that you have either identified in your annotated bibliography or that you will be using in your Final Research Essay and perform this analysis. To help with the analysis, you can refer to the “Engaging Sources” slide deck in the Content folder to determine how the scholar creatively agrees or disagrees with the conversation about that subject. You can also examine the rhetorical tactics that the author uses to make their point, identifying the elements of the rhetorical ecology involved including audience, purpose, context, exigence, environment/community and/or kairos. Your paper needs to be at least 500 words typed, double-spaced and must conform to MLA guidelines.

I think you have a good start here. I would recommend being a little more specific in your examples. You mention topics, but more specificity on the exact points the author makes actually helps your authority
Instead of paraphrasing use a quote from the source
