The United States Constitution provides lifetime appointments for people who are appointed as Supreme Court justices. This means that once an individual has been appointed or selected as a justice, the position is for the length of their lifetime. In my opinion, justices to the United States Supreme Court should not have lifetime appointments. One of the major reasons for my position is based on the fact that it may over time lead to lack of independence among the justices.
