Performance Improvement in the United States Army

Introduction

The United States evolved from a small military army when it was formed in 1775 into the world’s premier force. The objective of the army is to serve the American nationals and defend the nation’s vital interests. As such, the mission of the U.S. military is to support the national defense and security strategies. Being a discipline force, the army recruits, trains, and provide soldiers with ammunitions who, in turn, play crucial roles as members of the distinct units in the forces. The army also has the responsibility of providing its members with logistics to enable them to accomplish assigned. Despite the U.S. army being the most equipped and skilled in the world, it has several deficiencies in its operations that compromise its efficiency. One of the areas that the U.S. army needs improvement is dealing with nuclear and biological weapons, especially in urban settings. While the U.S. army has taken part in many wars in the past, most of them were fought in secluded areas or small towns, such as Al-Fallujah during the Iraq war. Moreover, the U.S. army needs to improve on issues related to protecting suspects’ human rights, especially in the wake of the Abu Ghraib prison incidents.
